My name is Elena Doro Vasell and I am the creator of Nuovi Viaggi Tours and your Italian travel planner.
I was born and lived most of my life in Italy, near Venice. I left my country after graduating from the Technical Institute of Foreign Languages and Tourism in Venice.

I have been in the U.S. for about 6 years.
People ask me all the time "Why would you live Venice?", "Do you like it here?"...
Well, I know that "leaving Venice" sounds crazy...but I left it to be with my husband who is from here.
It is quite a romantic story, actually.

A few years ago I decided to take a break from a successful, but exhausting job in Europe and to come visit San Francisco and the Bay Area.
Within just a few days after getting here, I had already met my future husband, Jonathan.
Of course, I didn't know that back then, but I sure thought that although we came from places 6,000 miles apart, we were very much alike and very much attracted to one another...if not already madly in love.
So, that is the story of why I'm here.

"Do I like it here?" I sure do. The U.S, and California in particular, is a welcoming and inspirational place.
But do I miss my homecountry? Oh, sooo much!
My whole big family lives there and I only get to see them about once a year. I miss the Italian culture, the lifestyle, the arts, the people, the places and may I add...the authentic cuisine!
Jonathan and I have two children: our adorable little boys Zachary Lorenzo and Vincent Martino who are 3 and 1 years old.
They are the joy of our life, but they sure know how to always keep us busy!... which is part of the reason why we are planning to move back to Italy in just a few years!
It'll be nice for our kids to grow up with family around, plus we just love everything Italy has to offer!

In the meantime, I thought I'd start my travel planning business.
I have actually been doing it unofficially for the last 5 years.
Just about everybody I meet is in love with my country and ask me what sights I recommend. They just can't miss the opportunity of asking a "real Italian" ! And I just love that!
After all these years of doing this I have learned what kind of experience people are looking for in Italy and how to put together the perfect Italian vacation for them.
So, if you are an Italy lover and want to plan a trip there, I have lots and lots of recommendations about places, sights, historical events, ccommodations, restaurants and trattorias....
